Work has now started on the refurbishment of the Holywell and visitors centre. The Holywell is being renovated with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund Malvern Heritage Project, through the local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB) office and the Malvern Spa Association.
Building work is due to be completed in early 2009, with the visitors centre scheduled to open in May and bottling beginning in June. Mike Humm, Holywell custodian, comments, ‘We are extremely pleased that the Holywell has been selected for the visitors centre. The Well is the original source of Malvern water and believed to be the site of the first spring water bottling works in Britain so we are very proud to be able to reinstate this historic venture.
